Rice Bytes - just push play!

Help bring some bite-sized samples of Rice to the masses!

Blue film reel on a pink background. To the right, blue text on a pink grid background that says GPS presents "Rice Bytes": Make a movie, get a lunch from GPS!

In our virtual world, it can be hard for prospective (and remote!) Rice students to get a feel for what our campus community is like. We’d love to bring some byte-size samples of Rice to the masses!

To help with this project, submit a video! Share a ~60 second video GPS highlighting you - and Rice! Showcase your department, a day in your Rice life, favorite places on campus, favorite things to do in Houston - the sky's the limit. We’ll give the first 50 submissions a $10 voucher to the Faculty Club, Little Kitchen or Ambassador Café, so you can have lunch on us this spring. Open to current students, staff, alumni and faculty.

  • Videos should be 60-90 seconds long.
  • Can be shot horizontal or vertical.
  • Can be uploaded as .mp4 or .mov.
  • Make sure to introduce yourself in some fashion! Name, year of matriculation and program of study are all great.
  • When you're ready to premier your film, upload it to the box folder here (or use the embedded uploader below - don't forget to hit "submit!").
  • Deadline Extended: Please upload by Feb. 19!
  • Once you've uploaded, please send a note to Jennifer Hunter at jkh6@rice.edu with your name so we know where to send your $10 voucher!

That's it! Questions? Email Jennifer at jkh6@rice.edu. We can't wait to see your work!
