Rosa Guerra Resendez (she/her) is originally from Monterrey, Mexico where she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Genomic Biotechnology from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León. She briefly worked at the Institute of Biotechnology from the same university before being awarded the Fulbright-García Robles scholarship. She is currently a PhD student in the Systems, Synthetic, and Physical Biology Program working in the Hilton Lab.

What I like the most about Rice is the support from its community and the collaborative atmosphere in their research areas.

Favorite thing about Houston:

I love multicultural environments, and Houston is the perfect city for that!

Why did you decide to go to grad school?

To contribute to the field of synthetic biology.
