GPS Pathways Program | About

About

The GPS Pathways Program was established in 2022 by Dean Seiichi Matsuda in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Currently in its pilot year, the program brings together a diverse group of first-year doctoral students to provide an extended orientation to Rice University, its resources, and the Houston area.

Scholars meet regularly over the course of the academic year and participate in a number of activities, from social events to group lunches, to meetings with university administrators and key offices. They are assigned to a small group led by our GPS Pathways Team, a group of senior graduate students that offer support and guidance throughout the duration of the program.
