Ken completed his undergraduate degree in Physics and Education with a minor in mathematics at Makerere University followed by a postgraduate in condensed matter physics from the international center for theoretical physics and a master's degree in physics from the University of Houston. Before joining Rice, he spent a summer at Los alamos national laboratory as a visiting student and he developed a passion for nanodevices. At Rice, his research is on light emission in plasmonic nano junctions. During his free time, he enjoys going to coffee shops and being out with friends.

Fun Fact:

I am an amateur guitar player. This year my goal was to learn how to play 5 songs but I now know how to play about 10!!

Supportive faculty and greenery.

Favorite thing about Houston:

Great food and tourist attractions e.g, museums.

Why did you decide to go to grad school?

I wanted to sharpen my scientific knowledge and develop and refine my skills while enjoying my hobby of research.
