I (she/her) am a first-year PhD student in the Physics & Astronomy department. I am an international student from Johannesburg, South Africa. My research interests are in stellar astrophysics, and I am also passionate about teaching and outreach.

Why I decided to go to grad school:

I wanted to conduct astrophysics research at the highest level. I also love teaching and mentoring which is a big part of the academic life.

Fun Fact about me:

I have never lived in a house that wasn't built by my parents.

Favorite thing about Rice University:

The campus - it is so beautiful with so many trees and opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

Favorite thing about Houston:

The weather - because I grew up somewhere warm, I love the heat and humidity which I know is pretty unusual!
