Jennifer Hunter, admissions and visibility strategy manager in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, joined incoming Rice graduate students Sangwon Seo, Jung Kim, Byoung Yong Yoo, Dongjoo Lee, Dayong Lee and Jennifer Lee for a meal of bulgogi and kkotgetang July 15 in the Mapo District of Seoul, South Korea.
Current grad student Kyungsoo Lee, a Fulbright scholar studying religion, arranged the lunch for incoming Rice grad students with ties to South Korea. Topics discussed over the traditional Korean lunch included the basics — how to register for classes and when orientation begins — as well as what it’s like to live in Texas, where to get great Korean food in Houston and how to get to our very own Koreatown.
