Born and raised in Mexico City, he obtained his B.Sc. in Nanotechnology Engineering at the Polytechnic University of the Valley of Mexico at Mexico State. He is an alumnus of the Opportunity Funds Scholarship, a U.S. Department of State sponsored program. Some of his previous research entailed nanotechnology-based wearable devices using commercial textiles and graphene. He has recently become a CONAHCYT Fellow for his upcoming research at Rice University in the Neuroengineering Initiative regarding novel research platforms for Alzheimer's Disease in the Cell Materials Technologies Lab under Dr. Christina Tringides' mentorship. Max believes in the huge impact that materials science can have on neural engineering, particularly on devices that can diagnose & treat neurological diseases.
Why I decided to go to grad school:
