Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights that’s celebrated every fall, is typically a five-day affair. Indian Students at Rice (ISAR) packed five days of fun into one night Nov. 4 at the Rice Memorial Center during its annual Deepotsav event, which featured live performances of music from across the Indian subcontinent, dancing, DJs and a dinner feast. There was even a diya decorating station set up to let celebrants take the lights of Diwali home.
