Rosa Selenia Guerra Resendez is a fifth-year Ph.D. student in the Systems, Synthetic and Physical Biology program. A Fulbrighter from Monterrey, Mexico, Guerra Resendez found Rice’s welcoming community a significant factor in deciding where to attend graduate school. “When I met with several of the faculty at Rice, they were super approachable,” she said. "It made me feel like, oh, maybe this is a good place to spend the next five years of my life."
