All About GPS Writing Groups
Writing is a crucial part of doctoral programs, but it can often feel like a challenging obstacle. To support graduate students in these endeavors, the Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Office hosts two research-focused writing groups: one for STEM doctoral students and another for social science, humanities, and business doctoral students.
This group emphasizes community-based accountability rather than being feedback-focused. Participants meet to share their writing goals and dedicate time to writing together.
In addition to regular writing sessions, we also host a few sessions each semester where experts join us to share insights and lead workshops. These workshops are designed to help you better prepare for your candidacy exams, paper submissions, and dissertation completion.
The schedule for each group changes each semester, depending on the schedules of those interested in attending. For more information, please contact Vanessa Espinoza (vbe1@rice.edu) or check out this video.
