Kate Cross, Rice University

As the Associate Dean, Kate manages the administration of the office and new initiatives in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. Focused on academic programs and infrastructure, she works closely with partners around campus to improve the administration of graduate student programs as well as services and opportunities for graduate students. Kate has worked in Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies since July of 2008.

Kate is a near-native Houstonian who loves to introduce newcomers to the city and to her neighborhood. She holds a bachelor's degree from Boston University's School of Education and a master's degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas. Prior to joining Rice she taught secondary social science and history in Houston ISD.

Kate has two daughters, Amy and Ellie, and relishes the opportunity to introduce them to the world.
