As an Assistant Dean in the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Carrie focuses her efforts on student life outside of academics.
Carrie Willard is originally from Wisconsin, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her law degree from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. There, she wrote for the Bill of Rights Journal and researched First Amendment implications of political decision-making.
Carrie has lived in Houston since 2014. She and her husband live with three loving rescue dogs, two exceptional children, and a really mean cat. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, swimming, and reading. Carrie’s favorite thing about working at Rice is meeting new people, followed closely by meeting new dogs and squirrels.
