Pronouns: she/her/hers
Hi! I am a rising 4th-year Bioengineering PhD candidate in Dr. Szablowski’s Lab for Non-Invasive Neuroengineering. I earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Chemical and Biological Engineering from Colorado State University. Now I research methods to track neurodegeneration and open the blood-brain barrier non-invasively. In my free time, I love to read, run, and spend time with my rescue pup Deker!
Fun Fact:
I have run 3 half marathons and 2 full marathons in Houston!
Favorite thing about Rice:
The community that I have found! They create such a fun and supportive environment.
Favorite thing about Houston:
Life in Houston is so vibrant! The people, community events, and amazing food make Houston so special.
Why did you decide to go to grad school?
I loved my research experiences at Colorado State studying prion diseases and knew that I wanted to pursue a career in research. After exploring industry, master’s, and PhD options, I decided that a bioengineering PhD would give me the best training to grow as a researcher and ultimately lead projects.
