Marc-Ansy Laguerre earned his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Rice University in 2024, with a focus on structural and earthquake engineering. Prior to Rice, he was a Foreign Fulbright Student and earned his M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019. He is currently a Postdoctoral Associate, and his research focuses on using post-earthquake data and finite element analysis to assess structural vulnerability and better understand how buildings perform during earthquakes. Originally from Haiti, Marc-Ansy’s background has strongly influenced his commitment to engineering, research, and education. He has also taught structural engineering at Rice and values opportunities to share knowledge, mentor students, and contribute to the broader Rice community.
