Damien is a Ph.D. candidate in Chemistry at Rice University. Prior to Rice, he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2024 where he worked on the synthesis of nitrogen heterocycles. At Rice, he now works on organometallic chemistry in the Yruegas Group. Damien is from a small town in the Mississippi Delta and in his free time enjoys walking around outside or cooking.
Why I decided to go to grad school:
I decided to go to grad school because of my love for chemistry. I wanted to gain as much knowledge in the field as I could.
Fun fact about me:
I am double-jointed almost everywhere in my body.
Favorite thing about Houston:
I love the food. There is anything and everything to eat in the city.
