I’m a Texas LPC with over five years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my undergraduate degree in Applied Arts and Sciences with a legal minor from Sam Houston State University and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Malone University. I’m also currently pursuing my MBA through the hybrid program at Rice University. I’ve worked in community mental health with dual diagnosis populations and support teens and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, life transitions, and everyday stress.
I’m also a wife, mom of three, Houston-raised, bilingual in Spanish and English, and proudly connected to my Colombian culture. As a first-generation individual, I understand how important it is to feel seen as a whole person, not just through symptoms, but through culture, family, identity, and lived experience.
Before becoming a therapist, I served in the Army, lived in Japan for three years, and spent over 15 years connected to military life. I love traveling, dancing, trying different foods, and learning from different cultures. These experiences shape how I show up in therapy: warm, honest, down-to-earth, and human.
Fun Fact:
I am a licensed therapist.
Favorite thing about Rice:
The campus.
Favorite thing about Houston:
The diverse foods.
Why did you decide to go to grad school?
I went to grad school because, as an LPC, I want to expand my impact beyond individual clinical work. My goal is to become a business-oriented leader who can make mental health services more accessible, practical, and sustainable as both a service and a product.
