Pronouns: he/him
Previous Institutions: Tecnológico de Monterrey
I grew up in Obregon, Sonora, and later moved to Monterrey to study Biotechnology Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey. After my undergraduate studies, I pursued a Master’s degree, focusing on the development of a dengue vaccine prototype using tobacco cells. My interests shifted when I joined the hospital research unit at my university, where I worked on diabetes and ALS cell therapy using mesenchymal stem cells. Currently, I’m doing my Ph.D. working on studying early development and how cells communicate with each other to form all these complex structures and tissues that give rise to the embryo. When not working, I enjoy going to the cinema, photography and tasting coffee.
Why did you decide to go to grad school?
To continue studying stem cells and use science to help people in the future.
