Morgan is a Ph.D. candidate in the history department. She is originally from Minneapolis, MN, and graduated in 2021 from Carleton College with a B.A. in History and a Spanish minor. Morgan is currently working on her dissertation, tentatively titled "The Native Image in the Black Mind: African American Perceptions of Native American Identity in the Long Nineteenth-Century United States." When she's not working on her research, Morgan loves to travel, listen to podcasts, read fiction, and meet as many dogs as possible!

I'm currently working on fulfilling my goal of visiting all fifty states.

Rice has a lot of resources and support that definitely helps the grad school experience go more smoothly.

Why did you decide to go to grad school?

I pursued graduate school to gain more knowledge and academic skills, as well as to further myself in my discipline to expand my career options. I also love being a student!
