Sebastian Berrios

Seba is a 3rd-year PhD candidate in the Applied Physics program at Rice University. He completed both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Theoretical Physics at PUC Chile, and currently works under the supervision of Dr. Ming Tang on computational electrochemical modeling, building advanced numerical solvers for battery systems using spectral methods and phase-field models.

When not running simulations, Seba is likely on the pitch playing soccer or watching a match (preferably both in the same day). He also enjoys dancing salsa and bachata, and plays bass. Outside the lab, he’s always up for a good time and believes there’s plenty of life to live beyond research. Seba is happy to connect with fellow students looking to settle in and find their people.
