I am Iago Mariano, a 4th-year PhD student in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at Rice University. My research career has spanned several key areas of healthcare, including immunomodulators, vaccine development, and now cancer biology. Currently, I am focused on elucidating how specific proteins, when overproduced, trigger ROS and cause DNA damage.
Beyond the lab, I serve as a Thrive@Rice student leader, Grad Ambassador, and President of the Brazilian Student Association, helping students navigate their journey at Rice.
