Kyra is a third-year PhD student in the Mechanical Engineering program. Originally from Vermilion, Ohio, she earned her undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cleveland State University. She works with Dr. Marcia O’Malley on the development of assistive technologies, with a particular focus on rehabilitation robotics.
Outside of research, Kyra enjoys staying active and involved in the community. She enjoys rock climbing, volunteers as a belayer at Paraclimbing events, bikes recreationally with friends and as part of the GSA Beer Bike team, and participates in a wide range of sports. She also enjoys exploring what Houston has to offer and encourages other students to get out and experience the city as well.
