Max Paxtian

Max is a Ph.D. student in the Materials Science & Nanoengineering department at Rice University. Born and raised in Mexico City, he obtained his B.Sc. in Nanotechnology Engineering at Universidad Politécnica del Valle de Mexico in June 2024. He is also an Opportunity Funds 2023-2024 alumnus, as well as a SECIHTI fellow.

His research previously entailed nanotechnology-based wearable devices, and is now focused on the development of 3D in vitro platforms for studying Alzheimer’s Disease. When he is not in the lab, he enjoys swimming, playing video games, playing piano, biking, photography, and record collecting!
