Alan received his B.S. in Applied Physics at Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (BUAP). He is a First-year Ph.D. student in Applied Physics under the supervision of Dr. Jun Kono. His current research is about light-matter interactions using cavity Quantum Electrodynamics engineering. He is currently the social chair of the Applied Physics GSA as well as the Latin America GSA. He is also part of the RAW Rice photography club, where he serves as the social and trip lead.

Why I decided to go to grad school:

For me, it was a natural path to follow after my undergrad, as I am very passionate about new discoveries. In particular, I think that quantum mechanics is full of questions that need to be solved in order to have better technologies for the future.

I don't know how to burp.
