Sadie (she/they) was born and raised in Tulsa, OK. She received her bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. At UMKC she served as the treasurer of Women in Science for two years and was an active undergraduate researcher. Here at Rice, Sadie is studying Electrical Engineering with a focus in Optics. Her research project involves using Ultrafast Single Particle Spectroscopy tools for studying plasmonic nanoparticles. She is also the current Vice President of the Queer Graduate Student Association.

Why did you decide to go to graduate school?
I decided to go to grad school because I wanted to continue expanding my knowledge through research and work on challenging problems.
