Previous Institution: Louisiana Tech University

Pronouns: she/her

I am a Ph.D Student in the department of Mechanical Engineering at Rice University. I graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering. At Rice, I joined the Preston Innovation (PI) Lab, where I have been able to merge my biomedical background with mechanical engineering to further research the integration of electrically conductive and fluidic systems to soft wearable rehabilitation devices. Outside of the lab I love trying new food places around Houston, hanging out with friends, reading, running, and gardening!

Why I decided to go to grad school:

Growing up I witnessed firsthand the difficulties my mom faced while living with a disability. This motivated me to pursue engineering research that innovates wearable assistive technology.

Fun fact about me:

I love matcha!

Favorite thing about Rice:

The welcoming and supportive community!

Favorite thing about Houston:

The multicultural environment and the food! I've really enjoyed gaining a deeper understanding of different cultures through their cuisine.
