Debadrita Jana (she/her) is a PhD student who came to Rice having worked in the oil & gas industry. She is interested in using the geochemistry of microscopic marine organisms known as foraminifera (especially trace and minor element ratios) to understand changes in seawater chemistry and climate in Earth's past. She attended Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India for her undergraduate degree, and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai, India, for her master's degree.

It's very diverse, the food is great, close to other interesting places in Texas!
