Alma Mater: UT Austin

My name is Mirae (Sunny) (she/her), and I'm a PhD student in the computer science department with a focus in bioinformatics. My research involves using genetic information and machine learning to find biologically-relevant relationships leading to disease susceptibility and drug development. Prior to joining Rice, I completed my BS/MS in biomedical engineering at UT Austin, and prior to that I lived in Houston for 8 years. I have a tuxedo cat named Kylo and I enjoy indoor bouldering in my free time.
