Vanessa is a Postdoctoral Associate in the GPS office and a recent Rice University doctoral graduate from the Chemistry department where her research focused on optical tailoring of Single-Wall Carbon Nanotubes.

Vanessa was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She earned her B.S. in physics and chemistry from Texas Lutheran University in 2017. Throughout her journey as an undergrad, Vanessa had Summer research experiences at the National Energy Technology Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA and the National Institute of Science and Technology in Gaithersburg, MD.
