Yan-Yu Chiou, Rice university graduate student ambassador and Ph.D. student

Yan-Yu Chiou is a Ph.D student in the Department of Economics.

He is from Pingtung City, Taiwan. He received his bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Providence University, Taiwan and M.BA. in Finance from National Chung-Hsing University, Taiwan. He won the Government Fellowship for Studying Abroad in 2018.

He joined Rice University as a doctoral student in 2019. His research interests are in Econometrics theory especially on identification, estimation and inference of semi/nonparametric regression and functional linear regression.

Now he works with his supervisor Prof. Xun Tang. He was the president of Rice Taiwanese Graduate Student Association 2020-2021.
