Bio: 

Lul is a second-year Chemistry Ph.D. student in the Hernández Sánchez lab. She is from Minnesota and received her bachelor's in Chemistry and a minor in linguistics at Swarthmore College. She worked in the lab of Dr. Kathryn Riley to develop electrochemistry techniques to quantify the dissolution kinetics of LiCoO2 nanoparticles leaching into the environment. At Rice, Lul continues using chemistry to address environmental concerns. She is currently working on developing polymers for water treatment. She likes playing ultimate frisbee, running, and baking treats in her free time.

Getting a nutty bee from Chaus every morning!

Favorite thing about Houston:

As a cold person, Houston is warm many months out of the year, and I love that!

Why did you decide to go to grad school? 

Participating in research throughout undergrad made me realize I love learning. I want to be an expert in my field, and Rice will prepare me for that.
